Catherine

I’m Catherine, the artist behind Essential Artsy. I currently work from a small home studio in the UK, though my roots are in South Africa. That early relationship with wide landscapes, shifting light, and open space continues to shape how I see and create, even from a different hemisphere. 

My work begins intuitively. I don’t follow fixed plans or formulas. Instead, I respond to what feels present in the moment, allowing each piece to unfold naturally. I’m drawn to creating pieces that feel light, colourful, and open, offering a sense of ease and gentle uplift.

My background in fashion influences how I approach figures, flow, and composition, while my work with sound healing, reiki, and essential oils adds an energetic and intuitive layer to my creative process. These elements guide not only how I create, but why I create.

My artworks are designed to resonate on a personal level and evolve with the viewer’s mood. Original pieces and commissions are available by inquiry.
